After scuffling through April and May, former first round pick (2006) and Lancaster OF Jason Place came hard out of the box, posting a .481/.588/.889 (1.477 OPS) line and earning himself SoxProspects.com (position) Player of the Week honors for June 2-8. Place swatted three homers and two doubles, plating 11 runs while batting in eight in 34 PA. Place, 20, owns a .243/.332/.442 (.775 OPS) line in 226 ABs with nine home runs, 12 doubles and three triples, while batting in 30 runs (40 runs scored) in 54 games, predominately out of the lead off spot for the JetHawks.
