Pitcher of the Week, 5/26-6/1: Chris Jones
Lancaster RHP Chris Jones struck out eleven Inland Empire hitters over six and two thirds innings while giving up one run on five hits to earn SoxProspect.com's Pitch of the Week honors for 5/26-6/1. Jones, 23, is currently 3-4 with a 5.43 ERA in 11 starts for the Jethawks. Converted to a reliever during the 2007 season, the hard throwing righty was sent back into the rotation for 2008. Jones split time between the Greenville rotation and bullpen last season appearing in 31 games while striking out 119 batters in 112 2/3 innings.
