Lancaster pounds out 14 hits in 9-2 win
5/17 Cup of Coffee: Buffalo doubled Pawtucket last night 4-2. Charlie Zink threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 3 BB. He had 3 Ks. Hunter Jones seeing his first action at AAA pitched 1 inning and gave up 1 run on 3 hits. Jose Vaquedano retired the 2 hitters he faced recording 1 K. Jon Switzer threw 1 inning and allowed 1 run on 2 hits. He had 1 K. No PawSox hitter had multiple hits.
The Portland /New Britain game was postponed due to rain.
Lancaster defeated Bakersfield 9-2. Travis Beazley (3-4) went 6 innings and gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He had 5 Ks. Cody McAllister pitched 2 perfect innings of relief. Scott Lonergan threw a clean 9th with 1 K. Jorge Jimenez went 2 for 5 with a run scored. Lars Anderson went 3 for 5 with 2 runs score. Josh Reddick went 2 for 5 and scored a run. Chih-Hsien Chiang went 3 for 5 with a run scored and 4 RBI.
Greenville edged Savannah 5-4. Jose Alvarez (2-5) threw 6 innings allowing 4 runs on 4 hits and 3 BB. He had 5 Ks. Jordan Craft went 1 inning allowing a hit and a BB. He had 2 Ks. Daniel Bard threw a clean inning with 1 K. Felix Ventura also threw a 1-2-3 inning with 2 Ks. Mike Jones went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. David Mailman went 2 for 3. Manny Arambarris went 2 for 4 with a run scored and a RBI.
