Bard promoted to Portland

RHP Daniel Bard, SoxProspects.com 10th rated prospect and Pitcher of the Month of April, was promoted to AA Portland from low-A Greenville on Friday. The move skips Bard over high-A Lancaster where he pitched so poorly in 2007. Bard, 22, the owner of a long scoreless inning streak to begin the season, went 1-0 with a 0.64 ERA in 15 appearances with the Drive, allowing two runs on 12 hits (.129 BAA), striking out 43 while walking only four, over 28 innings of work.
