Sox acquire Eric Hull for Christian Lara
On Tuesday morning the Red Sox acquired righty reliever Eric Hull from the Dodgers in exchange for Christian Lara and cash considerations . Hull, 28, pitched in five games for L.A. last season after racking up 11 saves and a 2.74 ERA in 49 games with AAA Las Vegas. Earlier this week, Hull was designated for assignment to make room on the Dodgers' 40 man roster. Lara, a solid defensive player with a weak bat, was slated to spend his fourth year at A-Ball for the Red Sox in 2008, this season as a backup infielder with the Lancaster JetHawks. After the trade, Hull was added to Boston's 40-man roster and assigned to the inactive list in Pawtucket.
