Player of the Week, April 3-6: Jon Still
In a strong performance, even by California League Standards, Lancaster C Jon Still posted a .333/.524/1.33 (1.657 OPS) line powered by four home runs and batting in seven, on the road against High Desert (Mariners) en route to being voted SoxProspects.com (position) Player of the Week for April 3-6. Still, 23, a power hitting righty with good plate discipline, hit .292/.432/.542 (.973 OPS) with 21 HR and 25 doubles in 102 games with Greenville in 2007, before finishing the year at Lancaster. He was voted a 2008 Pre-Season All Star (DH) by the SoxProspects.com community. Honorable mention: Pawtucket 1B Brandon Moss and OF Chris Carter.
