Pinckney's 5 RBI leads Sea Dogs to victory
4/23 Cup of Coffee: The action was light on Tuesday as only two teams saw action. Portland hammered New Hampshire 11-2. Kris Johnson (1-1) went 5 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 3 BB. He had 6 Ks. Jose Vaquedano threw 1 1/3 frames and did not allow a run. He gave up 1 hit while fanning 2. Miguel Asencio went 1 inning giving up 1 hit and a BB. Mike James threw a clean 9th. Bubba Bell went 1 for 4 with a home run. Sean Danielson went 2 for 4 with a run scored. Sandy Madera went 2 for 5 and scored twice. John Otness went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Andrew Pinckney went 3 for 5 with a home run and 5 RBI. Ryan Khoury went 2 for 3 with 4 RBI.
Modesto defeated Lancaster 4-1 in the only other game for Sox affiliates. Jimmy James (2-1) went 5 innings giving up 3 runs on 7 hits and 2 BB. He had 5 Ks. Richie Lentz threw 2 innings without allowing a run. He gave up 1 hit and a BB. He had 3 Ks. Scott Lonergan pitched the final inning allowing 1 run on 1 hit and a BB. Jason Place went 2 for 4 with a home run.
