Buchholz to start on Friday
It's official. Multiple sources close to Pawtucket RHP and SoxProspects.com #1 prospect Clay Buchholz indicate that Buchholz will be called up to start Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the Los Angeles Angels. Buchholz, who celebrated his 23rd birthday on Tuesday, is 8-3 with a 2.15 ERA and 164 strikeouts between stops in AA Portland and AAA Pawtucket this season. Buchholz is set to make his major league debut a little over two years after being selected in the supplemental first round of the 2005 amateur draft.
