The Providence Journal is reporting that the Red Sox have reached a verbal agreement with top pick Nick Hagadone from the University of Washington. Hagadone received a signing bonus of $571, 500. Boston selected Hagadone with the 55th overall pick, in the supplemental 1st round of the 2007 draft. The lefty closer went 6-1 with 11 saves and a 2.77 ERA in 25 games for Washington this past collegiate season. Look for Hagadone to be assigned to Lowell when the signing becomes official.
