Player/Pitcher of the Month: April 2007
The SoxProspects.com moderators have selected Bubba Bell as the SoxProspects.com Player of the Month for April 2007. While there were many deserving candidates, Bell stood out, hitting .382/.476/.706 with 8 HRs, 33 RBIs, and stealing 4 bases for Lancaster, leading the California League in HRS, SLG, RBI, TBs, and hits. With his solild performance, the 24-year old centerfielder may have earned himself a promotion to AA in the near future.
Dustin Richardson is your Pitcher of the Month for April 2007, narrowly edging out Michael Bowden. In 5 starts and 24.2 innings for the Greenville Drive, the athletic lefty had an ERA of 1.82, striking out 35 and walking only 11. Due mostly to poor run support, Richardson managed only 1 win in his 5 starts. There is also some speculation that Richardson may have earned himself a promotion to Lancaster not too far down the road.
