Durbin designated for assignment

Just one day after being claimed off waivers, J. D. Durbin will again be exposed to them as he was designated for assignment by the Red Sox today. Were he to clear waivers, his likely destination would be AAA Pawtucket. There has been speculation that he may be claimed by another club, perhaps the Oakland A's.
