8/20 Cup of Coffee
On Saturday the Pawtucket Red Sox beat the Ottawa Lynx 3-2. Charlie Zink got the start and went 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 2 hits while striking out 5 and walking 4. Ken Huckaby, Tyler Minges, and Ron Calloway each went 2-4 in the Pawsox win. Portland beat Trenton 2-1 in 10 innings. Frank Brooks got the start for the Seadogs and pitched 5 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 2 and walking 5. Edgar Martinez pitched 2 scoreless innings in the win. Jeremy West went 3-4 with a double and a run in the win. Keoni De Renne went 2-4 with a double and Brandon Moss went 1-3 with an RBI. Wilmington fell to Lynchburg 3-1. John Barnes pitched 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 3 and walking 4. Jeff Corsaletti went 1-4 with a homerun and Jed Lowrie and Mark Wagner each had a hit in the loss.
Greenville was shutout by Augusta on Saturday 2-0. Chris Jones was dominant in the game going 7 innings giving up no runs on 4 hits while striking out 5 and walking 1. Bubba Bell went 2-4 with a double and Christian Lara went 1-4 in the loss. Lowell fell to Jamestown 11-8. J.T. Zink went 4 2/3 innings giving up 9 runs on 9 hits while striking out 2 and walking 1. Jordan Craft pitched 2 innings striking out 3. Jeff Vincent went 2-5 with a homerun and 2 RBI and Paul Smyth went 3-4 with a double and Luis Exposito hit his first professional homerun in the loss. And finally the division champion GCL Red Sox beat the GCL Twins 4-1 in 13 innings. Lenny DiNardo pitched 3 innings in a rehab start giving up 1 run on 1 hit with 1 strikeout. Emilis Guerrero pitched 4 innings giving up no runs while striking out 6. Kris Negron went 2-4 with a homerun and a double and Mike Jones went 3-6 with 2 homeruns and 3 RBI in the win.
