In action on Saturday, Scranton/WB defeated Pawtucket 7-3. Marc Deschenes took the loss. He went 5 1/3 innings giving up 6 runs on 5 hits and 4 BB. He had 3 Ks. Willie Harris went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 runs scored. Akron got by Portland 5-1. Tommy Hottovy started and was the loser. He went 6 2/3 innings giving up 3 runs on 3 hits and a BB. He had 5 Ks. Brandon Moss went 2 for 3. Jacoby Ellsbury went 2 for 4 and scored a run. Potomac edged Wilmington 6-5. Gary Galvez started and took the loss. He lasted 7 innings while giving up 6 runs on 8 hits. He did not allow a BB and struck out 3. Jay Johnson went 3 for 6 and scored a run. Andrew Pinckney went 2 for 5 with a home run and 2 runs scored. Bubba Bell and John Otness were each 2 for 4 with a RBI. Columbus edged Greenville 4-3. Ryan Phillips went 5 innings giving up 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 BB. He had 2 Ks. Aaron Bates went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 RBI. Yahmed Yema went 2 for 3. The second game was postponed. In the GCL, the Red Sox blasted the Twins 10-3. Jorge Rodriguez got the win going 6 innings. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits and a BB. He had 7 Ks. Jon Egan went 3 for 4 and scored 2 runs. Chih-Hsien Chiang went 3 for 5 and scored run. Matt Sheely went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Ryan Kalish went 2 for 5 with a home run, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.
