Friday night saw Pawtucket blasted by Louisville 9-2. David Murphy just promoted from AA went 2 for 4 with a home run, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Jeff Bailey went 2 for 4 with a RBI. Ken Huckaby also went 2 for 4. Abe Alvarezstarted and took the loss. He gave up 4 runs on 7 hits and 3 BB in 4 innings of work. Charlie Zink did not fare much better allowing 4 runs on 3 hits and 5 BB in 2 1/3 innings. New Britain shut out Portland 4-0.David Pauley started and went 8 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 6 hits. He allowed 1 BB and had 4 Ks.Randy Beam pitched a 1 hit scoreless inning of relief. Tyler Minges went 2 for 4 and Brandon Moss went 1 for 3. The Wilmington- Myrtle Beach game was postponed. Greenville edged Greensboro 3-2. Jay Johnson went 2 for 5. Yahmed Yema went 4 for 5 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Christian Lara went 2 for 3 and scored 2 runs. Logan Sorensen went 2 for 4. Mike Rozier started and went 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He had 3 BB and 3 Ks. J.T. Zink went 2 1/3 scoreless innings while Blake Maxwell picked up the win going the final 2/3 of an inning allowing 0 hits.
Player of The Night: Yahmed Yema who had 4 hits and played a role in all 3 of Greenville's runs in their victory over Greensboro.
