On Saturday Pawtucket was shutout by Scranton Wilkes-Barre 5-0. Craig Hansen started for the Pawsox going 3 2/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 4 and walking 3. Adam Stern went 1-4 in the loss. In Portland the Seadogs fell to the Fishercats 4-1. Phil Seibel got the start and went 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 3 hits while striking out 3 and walking 3. Chad Spann went 1-2 with a double and a walk in the loss. In Wilmington the Blue Rocks beat Myrtle Beach 6-1. Tommy Hottovy pitched 7 great innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 8 and walking 2. Claudio Arias went 2-5, Ian Bladergroen went 2-4 and Scott White went 3-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI's to spark the Blue Rocks offense. And finally the Greenville Drive got pounded 13-4 in West Virginia. Clay Buchholz got the start and got hit hard going 4 innings giving up 5 earned runs on 6 hits while striking out 5 and walking 2. Jay Johnson, Dustin Kelly and Matt Mercurio each had 2 hits apiece for the Drive.
Player of the night: Tommy Hottovy of the Blue Rocks who went 7 innings and stuck out 8 in Wilmington's win.
