In Saturday action, Pawtucket went down 3-2 to Rochester. Anastacio Martinez took the loss giving up 2 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings. Kelly Shoppach went 2 for 4 including his 25th home run. He had 2 RBI. Dave Berg was 2 for 4 as well. Portland shut out New Hampshire 1-0. Kason Gabbard went 5 2/3 innings allowing 0 runs on 6 hits while striking out 4. Craig Hansen pitched another scoreless, hitless inning while striking out 2. Scott Youngbauer went 2 for 4. Lynchburg got by Wilmington 3-1. Jose Vaquedano was the loser giving up 3 runs on 4 hits in 5 innings of work. Mickey Hall went 2 for 3 with a RBI to lead the Blue Rocks. Columbus got by Greenville 4-3. Jarrett Gardner gave up 3 runs on 6 hits during 7 innings but the loss went to Brantley Jordan who gave up 1 run on 2 hits in 2 2/3 innings of work.Sal Paniagua was 2 for 4 with a run and a RBI. Lowell was beaten by Tri-City 8-3. Adam Blackley lasted only 1 1/3 innings giving up 7 runs on 5 hits to record the loss. Jacoby Ellsbury went 2 for 4 with a run scored, Jason Twomley went 1 for 4 with a home run and Luis Soto was 1 for 3. The Gulf Coast Red Sox defeated the Pirates by a score of 9-4. Kyle Tabeek got the win in relief allowing o runs, 0 hits in 2 1/3 innings. Bubba Bell was 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored, 3 RBI and a home run. Luis Segovia was also 3 for 4. He had 2 runs scored, 2 RBI and a home run.
