Eight former Red Sox draftees selected in 2022 draft


Eight previous Red Sox draftees who did not sign were selected in the 2022 MLB Draft. This is a significant jump from the mere two draftees in 2021 and zero in the shortened 2020 draft, but below the 13 picked in the 40-round 2019 draft. Seven of these players went in the top 10 rounds, led by Tennessee outfielder Jordan Beck, a Red Sox 14th-round pick in 2019, who was selected by Colorado with the 38th overall selection, while Connor Prielipp, who was originally selected in the 37th round in 2019, went to Minnesota 10 picks later after having missed the 2022 season following Tommy John surgery in May 2021.
