Exposito called up to Boston, Jenks to DL
According to Sean McAdam on Twitter, the Red Sox have recalled catcher Luis Exposito from Triple-A Pawtucket and placed reliever Bobby Jenks on the 15-day disabled list.
Exposito, 24, was originally drafted by Boston in the 31st round of the 2005 amateur draft. In his sixth season as a member of the Red Sox system, Exposito has hit .223/.277/.331 with 3 home runs and 15 RBI as a member of the PawSox this season. Last season as a member of the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs, Exposito hit .260/.339/.416 with 11 home runs and 94 RBI. He will serve as catching insurance for a few days due to an illness to catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
