Pedro Perez sent to Detroit to complete Dlugach trade
According to Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe, the Red Sox have sent right-hander Pedro Perez to the Detroit Tigers to complete the trade on November 4 that brought Brent Dlugach to Boston.
Perez, 22, spent all of 2010 with Low-A Greenville. In 28 games, 26 of which were in relief, Perez compiled an 8-5 record with a 3.94 ERA in 93.2 innings pitched.
Dlugach, 28, was originally drafted by Detroit in the 6th round of the 2004 amateur draft. He made his major league debut in 2009, when he went hitless in three at-bats with the Tigers. In 2010, he hit .258/.303/.360 with 6 home runs and 41 RBI as a member of the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens (DET). He is best known for his strong defensive skills at shortstop.
