Doubront activated, Reyes designated for assignment

Red Sox manager Terry Francona announced today that the team has designated Dennys Reyes for assignment, and will activate left handed pitcher Felix Doubront from the disabled list in his place. The Red Sox have 10 days to either trade, release, or place Reyes on waivers, who gave up 3 earned runs in just 1.2 innings in his 4 appearances with the Red Sox this season.

Doubront returns to Boston after making 12 appearances (3 starts), for the big club in 2010. He went 2-2 with a 4.32 ERA, while striking out 23 and walking 10 in 25.0 innings pitched. The 23-year-old started the year in Double-A Portland and ascended through the ranks quickly. Between Portland and Pawtucket, Doubront went 8-3 with a 2.81 ERA in 17 appearances (16 starts).
