Cabral promoted to Salem
After a dominant spell this season in Greenville, Cesar Cabral has been promoted to High-A Salem. Cabral, 21, will take the roster spot vacated by David Mailman, who was placed on the DL with a bruised wrist.
In 17 appearances for the Drive, Cabral posted an astounding 0.29 ERA, allowing just 1 earned run in 31.1 innings pitched. He has fanned 35 and walked just 7 with a WHIP of 0.73, holding opponents to a .158 batting average. Ranked #45 in the SoxProspects.com rankings, Cabral allowed his only run of the season on April 24. He debuted in the DSL in 2007 and after splitting time between the starting rotation and the bullpen in his past two seasons, Cabral has excelled this season as a reliever.
