Reddick joins expanded roster

Another September day, another September call-up. According to Chad Finn of Boston.com, the Red Sox today recalled outfielder Josh Reddick from Triple-A Pawtucket. He will become the seventh outfielder on Boston's active roster. In 33 major league plate appearances spanning two separate stints with Boston this season, Reddick has hit a combined .188/.212/.406 with 4 doubles and a home run. The 22-year-old lefthanded hitter had put up a combined .245/.317/.446 line with 17 doubles, 5 triples, and 13 home runs between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket in 2009. He is currently the second-ranked prospect in the Red Sox system by SoxProspects.com.
