Non-roster invitees announced
The Red Sox today announced that nineteen players will be brought to major league spring training as non-roster invitees. Included in this group are starting pitchers Kris Johnson and Charlie Zink, relief pitchers Daniel Bard (pictured), Fernando Cabrera, Enrique Gonzalez, Marcus McBeth, Dustin Richardson and Billy Traber, catcher Carlos Maldonado, corner infielders Lars Anderson, Jeff Bailey and Angel Chavez, middle infielders Nick Green, Ivan Ochoa and Gil Velazquez, and outfielders Chip Ambres, Zach Daeges, Paul McAnulty and Josh Reddick. Barring injuries or exceptional performances, however, none of these players are expected to break camp with Boston.
