Navarro's 5 hits lead Lancaster to victory
On Saturday, Pawtucket defeated Scranton/WB 7-3. Devern Hansack pitched 7 innings giving up 3 earned runs while striking out 7. Eric Hull pitched 1 and 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win. Jeff Bailey went 1 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI. Chris Carter went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and Gil Velazquez picked up 2 runs batted in while going 1 for 3 in the win.
Portland dropped the 1st game of their scheduled doubleheader 7-3 to Trenton. Kyle Jackson went 4 and 2/3 innings giving up 7 earned runs while walking 6 suffering the defeat. Zach Daeges went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles while driving in 1 run. Aaron Bates went 1 for 2 with 1 run scored and an RBI along with Argenis Diaz went 1/3 with an RBI in the defeat. The 2nd game of the day was rained out.
Lancaster defeated Rancho Cucamonga 7-6. Derrick Loop pitched 5 innings of shutout baseball to earn the win. Yamaico Navarro went 5 for 5 with 3 doubles and 3 runs batted in. Luis Exposito went 1 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBI along with Zak Farkes chipping in 1 RBI on a 2 for 4 night at the plate in the win.
Greenville was defeated by Charleston 5-4. Terumasa Matsuo pitched 5 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 6 hits while striking out 4 to pick up the loss. Manny Arambarris and Zach Penprase each went 2 for 4 with an RBI in the loss.
Lowell defeated Vermont 6-4. Stolmy Pimentel pitched 5 innings of shutout baseball while striking out 8 and giving up 2 hits. Stephen Fife earned the save throwing 3 innings while giving up 1 earned run and striking out 4. Mitch Dening went 2 for 5 with RBI. Kade Keowen added 2 RBI on a 1 for 4 night while Will Middlebrooks went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored.
The GCL Red Sox lost to the GCL Orioles 10-8. Wang-Yi Lin pitched 3 inning giving up 6 earned runs to pick up the loss. Kyle Snyder picthed 2 scoreless innings in a rehab appearance. Roberto Feliz went 1 for 4 with a double and 2 runs batter in. Ken Roque went 2 for 4 with a double in the defeat.
The DSL Red Sox defeated the DSL Blue Jays #2 9-6. Manuel Rivera pitched 5 innings giving up 1 unearned run while striking out 7 to pick up the win. Eddie Lora went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 RBI along with Juan Bonifacio went 1 for 3 with a grand slam in the victory.
Player of the Night: Yamaico Navarro who went 5 for 5 with 3 doubles and 3 runs batted in for Lancaster in their 7-6 victory over Rancho Cucamonga.
