Pitcher of the Month, June: Richie Lentz
Lancaster RHP Richie Lentz held opponents scoreless over 16 innings pitched in eight June appearances, holding opposing batters to a .080 BAA and issuing only seven walks, an impressive feat in the offensively inclined California League, and has therefore been recognized as SoxProspects.com Pitcher of the Month for June. On the season with Lentz is 3-2 with a 2.45 ERA in 51.1 IP over 26 appearances, allowing 14 ER on 28 hits and striking out 74 (27 BB). Lentz, 23, was a 19th round pick out of Washington in 2006 and pitched for Greenville in 2007 where he posted a 4.04 ERA in 49 innings, walking 42 and striking out 52.
