Bell drives in 5 in win over Trenton
7/3 Cup of Coffee: This reporter needs a really strong brew this morning to get over a sleepless night caused by the parent Sox but that's another story. Last night, Syracuse edged Pawtucket 6-5. Edgar Martinez started and went 3 innings allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 3 BB. He had 2 Ks. Miquel Asencio threw 4 frames giving up 1 run on 1 hit. He had 2 Ks. Michael Tejera pitched a 1-2-3 8th inning. Eric Hull (1-3) took the loss giving up 1 run on 1 hit and a BB in the 9th. He had 1 K. Bobby Kielty went 2 for 5 and scored a run. Dusty Brown went 2 for 3 with a run scored and 2 RBI.
Portland took care of Trenton 11-5. Kyle Jackson (5-1) threw 5 innings allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. He had 2 Ks. Carlos Vasquez went 2 innings giving up 1 run on 5 hits and a BB. He fanned 1.
