Zink goes 8 innings in Pawtucket win
6/8 Cup of Coffee: Pawtucket trounced Buffalo 9-1 on Saturday. Charlie Zink (7-2) went 8 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits and a BB. He had 2 Ks. Michael Tejera threw a clean 9th with 1 K. Joe Thurston went 3 for 5 with a RBI. Sean Danielson went 2 for 4 with a run scored and a RBI. Gil Velazquez went 2 for 4 and scored twice. Jon Van Every went 2 for 3 with a home run, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.
Portland lost a slugfest to Akron 11-10. Dave Gassnner went 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits and a BB. He had 4 Ks. Miquel Asencio lasted 0.2 of an inning giving up 4 runs on 5 hits. Mike James (2-2) threw 2 innings allowing 4 runs on 4 hits and 2 BB. He had 2 Ks. Carlos Vasquez got the last 2 outs for the Sea Dogs but gave up a hit and a BB as well. He had 1 K. Jeff Corsaletti went 4 for 6 with 3 runs scored and a RBI. Aaron Bates went 2 for 5 with a RBI. Andrew Pinckney went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored. Iggy Suarez went 2 for 4 with a run scored and a RBI.

In the Dominican Summer League, the Red Sox edged the Marlins 2-1. Nestor Lastreto started and threw 4 scoreless, hitless innings. He allowed 2 BB while fanning 3. Eddie Lora went 2 for 4.
