Player of the Month, April: Mike Jones
Greenville DH/1B Mike Jones was a one man wrecking crew posting a .415/.477/.606 line (1.083 OPS) in 94 ABs (39 hits) over 24 April games with two home runs, 10 doubles and one triple and in recognition of this performance has been named SoxProspects.com (position) Player of the Month. Jones, 22, powered the Drive offense with 20 runs batted in and scored 21, and took 12 walks while striking out 21 times. He was named SoxProspects.com Player of the Week and South Atlantic League Player of the Week for April 14-20. The power swinging lefty hitter was drafted by the Sox in the 25th round of the 2004 draft and split 2007 between Lowell and Greenville.
