Lin's wheels lead Greenville to victory


On Wednesday, Pawtucket beat Rochester, 4-2. Charlie Zink pitched 6 innings, giving up 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits while striking out 2 and walking 2. Chris Smith pitched 3 scoreless innings in relief, striking out 4 to pick up the save. Keith Ginter went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles, an RBI, 2 walks and a stolen base. Jeff Bailey went 1 for 5 with a homerun and 2 RBI while Chad Spann went 1 for 4 with an RBI.

Portland was defeated by Bowie, 5-3. Justin Masterson pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up 4 runs on 5 hits while striking out 5 and walking 3. Hunter Jones pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief striking out 2 batters. Aaron Bates, Bubba Bell, and Iggy Suarez each had a hit and drove in a run. Ryan Khoury went 1 for 2 with 2 walks.

Lancaster was postponed because of heavy winds and will play a doubleheader tonight.

Greenville beat Rome, 6-2. Jose Alvarez pitched 5 innings giving up no runs on 2 hits while striking out 2. Daniel Bard pitched 2 innings in relief and struck out 5 mixed in with 2 hits and a walk and a hit batter. Che-Hsuan Lin went 2 for 5 with 2 RBI, a run scored and 3 stolen bases. Manny Arambarris went 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBI whole Luis Exposito and Kris Negron each went 2 for 4.
