Pitcher of the Week, April 3-6: Daniel Bard
Working out of the 'pen in two appearances against Kannapolis (White Sox), Greenville RHP Daniel Bard held opposing batters to one hit, striking out five (and issuing one walk) over three scoreless innings (1 IP April 3, and 2 IP April 6), earning himself SoxProspects.com Pitcher of the Week honors for April 3-6. Bard, 22, whose 2007 travails are well known, is attempting to reinvent himself as a power reliever after a successful showing in that role in the Hawaiian Winter League this past off season and reportedly altering his delivery. He was voted a 2008 Pre-Season All Star as a reliever by the SoxProspects.com community.
