Jimenez's 3 hits lead Jethawks in comeback win
4/6 Cup of Coffee: On Saturday, Pawtucket split a doubleheader with Indianapolis taking the first game 6-2 while dropping the second 8-0. David Pauley picked up the win in the first game going 5 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 2 hits. He did not give up a walk while fanning 3. Lincoln Holdzkom threw a scoreless inning allowing a hit and a BB. Edgar Martinez threw the final frame and gave up 1 run. He did not allow a hit but gave up 3 BB. Chris Carter went 2 for 3. Brandon Moss went 2 for 2 and scored 2 runs. Jon Van Every went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the second game, Charlie Zink took the loss giving up 6 runs in 3 innings of work. He allowed 4 hits and walked 4. He had 3 Ks. Abe Alvarez threw 2 innings and allowed 2 runs on 2 hits and 3 BB. He had 1 K. Jon Switzer pitched 2 scoreless innings allowing 1 hit while giving up 3 BB. He had 1 K. Chris Carter went 2 for 2 in the game.
In AA action, Portland edged New Britain 2-1. Michael Bowden started and went 4 2/3 innings. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits and 2 BB. He had 5 Ks. Kyle Jackson went 1 1/3 scoreless frames allowing 1 hit. Chad Rhoades picked up the win throwing 2 perfect innings with 2 Ks. Mike James threw a perfect 9th. Jeff Natale went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 runs scored. Andrew Pinckney went 2 for 4 with a RBI.
Lancaster came from behind to outslug High Desert 14-8. Jimmy James went 4 innings allowing 6 runs on 9 hits. He had 6 Ks. Brian Steinocher picked up the win allowing 1 run on 1 hit in 3 innings of work. He had 2 Ks. Jason Blackey allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 2 innings. He had 2 Ks. Jorge Jimenez went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Reid Engel went 2 for 6 with a home run and 2 RBI. Christain Lara went 1 for 4 with a home run. He scored 3 times. Dennis Blackmon went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI.
