Garrabrants goes with 4 for 4 with 2 home runs in Jethawks win


8/3 Cup of Coffee: On Thursday, Pawtucket lost to Buffalo 7-3. David Pauley pitched 5 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 9 hits while striking out 6. Lincoln Holdzkom also pitched and went 1 1/3 scoreless innings walking 2. Eddie Rogers went 2 for 4 with a double and Alex Prieto went 1 for 2 with 2 walks in the loss.

Portland beat Bowie 6-3. Michael Bowden pitched 5 innings, giving up 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 7 and walking 2. Mike James finished the game giving up a hit while striking out 1 and walking 1. Iggy Suarez went 2 for 3 with a walk and a stolen base while Jay Johnson went 2 for 4 with a walk. Jeff Corsaletti and John Otness each went 2 for 5 in the Sea Dogs win.

Lancaster defeated Rancho Cucamonga 9-8. TJ Nall pitched 4 innings giving up 7 runs on 6 hits while striking out 3 and issuing 6 walks. Kyle Fernandes and TJ Large combined to pitch 4 scoreless innings. Steve Garrabrants went 4 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. Zach Daeges and Mark Wagner each went 3 for 4 with a walk in the Jethawks win.

Greenville fell to Lake County 6-5. Brian Steinocher pitched 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 2 and walking 3. Jon Still and Jonathan Egan each went 2 for 4 with a double. Argenis Diaz, Reid Engel and Josh Reddick each chipped in with 2 for 5 days.

Lowell lost a tough one in 11 innings to Staten Island 5-4. Miguel Socolovich pitched 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out 4 and walking 3. Eammon Portice 2 innings, giving up no runs on 2 hits while striking out 3. Mike Jones went 2 for 3 with 2 walks and Yamaico Navarro went 2 for 5 with a stolen base in the Spinners defeat.

And in the Dominican Summer League the Red Sox lost to the Yankees #2 by a 4-2 score. Cesar Cabral pitched the first 5 innings, giving up no runs on 1 hit while striking out 3 while walking 3. Manuel Jimenez pitched the final 1 2/3 innings, giving up no runs on a hit and striking out 1. Luis Diaz went 2 for 4 while Ronald Bermudez went 2 for 5 with a double in the loss.
