Red Sox select Nick Hagadone in 2007 Draft
The Boston Red Sox selected LHP Nick Hagadone out of the University of Washington with the 55th overall pick in the 2007 draft. Hagadone is a 6'5" 230 pound left-handed pitcher who was the Huskies' closer in 2007. Nick had a solid 2007 season going 6-1 with a 2.77 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 68 1/3 innings. His fastball sits in the low 90's with good movement and it tops out at 95 mph. He also mixes in a plus slider and a developing changeup. He has good control with his pitches and does not have a lot of miles on his arm. The Red Sox may look at him as a starter and he likely will go to Lowell when he signs with Boston.
