Clay Buchholz finished the month of May with a strong last start to round out his Pitcher of the Month campaign and picked up where he left off with his first start in June, surrendering one ER over 12.2 IP (0.71 ERA) in two starts, striking out 19, allowing five hits and six walks, and being voted SoxProspects.com Pitcher of the Week for May 27 - June 2. May 28, against Reading (Phillies) Buchholz worked 5.2 scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and striking out eight (3 BB) and earning the win. He pitched arguably as well (or better) June 2 against Connecticut (Giants), going seven innings, allowing one runs on three hits, while striking out 11 and was saddled with the hard-luck loss.
