Pawtucket wins 1-0 in 12 innings


6/2 Cup of Coffee: On Friday, Pawtucket outlasted Norfolk 1-0 in 12 innings. Devern Hansack started and pitched 7 scoreless innings allowing 3 hits while fanning 4. Bryan Corey threw 2 scoreless innings allowing 1 hit and 1 BB. He had 2 Ks. Travis Hughes (4-2) went 3 perfect innings fanning 2 and picked up the win. Jacoby Ellsbury went 1 for 5 and scored the only run. Joe McEwing went 2 for 4. David Murphy went 1 for 5 with a RBI.

Portland edged Connecticut 3-1. Daniel Haigwood (1-2) started and went 6 1/3 innings to earn the win. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits and 1 BB. He had 7 Ks. Kyle Jackson went 2/3 of an inning. He did not allow a run or a hit but gave up 2 BB. Lincoln Holdzkom threw a perfect inning of relief with 2 Ks. Mike James pitched a scoreless 9th allowing just a BB. Jed Lowrie went 2 for 2 and scored a run. Jeff Natale went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI. Zach Borowiak went 1 for 3 with a RBI.

Lancaster defeated Visalia 6-5. Mike Rozier (2-4) went 6 innings giving up 4 runs on 7 hits and 3 BB. He had 3 Ks. Kevin Guyette pitched the final 3 innings allowing 1 run on 1 hit. He had 1 K. Bubba Bell went 2 for 5 and scored twice. Tony Granadillo went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored. Zach Daeges went 2 for 4 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Aaron Bates went 2 for 2 with a run scored and 2 RBI. He is now hitting .311.

Greenville lost 6-5 to Hickory. Dustin Richardson (2-5) took the loss. He went 5 1/3 innings giving up 3 runs on 3 hits and 2 BB. He had 5 Ks. Kyle Fernandes went 1 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. He fanned 3. Adam Blackley pitched the final 2 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits. Manny Arambarris went 2 for 4 with a run scored and a RBI. Josh Reddick went 2 for 4 and is now hitting .326. Carlos Fernandez went 2 for 4 and scored a run.

Player of the Night: Devern Hansack who pitched 7 scoreless innings in Pawtucket's 12 inning 1-0 win.
