Buchholz named to Futures Game squad
On Thursday, Portland Sea Dogs pitcher Clay Buchholz was tabbed to pitch in the All-Star Futures Game. The Futures game will take place on July 8, 2007, in San Francisco during All Star Week. Buchholz will pitch for Team United States against the "World Team", comprised of the best international prospects in the minors. The game will begin at 4 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN2. For the season, Buchholz has a 5-2 record with a 1.82 ERA in 74 innings pitched while striking out 100 batters and walking only 18.
