Chris Jones allows 1 hit over 7 innings to lead Greenville to win


6/11 Cup of Coffee: On Sunday, Pawtucket doubled Ottawa 6-3. Kason Gabbard (6-2) went 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. He did not walk a hitter while fanning 5. Craig Breslow threw 1 2/3 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits and 1 BB. He had 4 Ks. Travis Hughes went 1 1/3 perfect innings. He had 2 Ks. Jacoby Ellsbury went 2 for 4 with a run scored and a RBI. He had 2 stolen bases as well. Ed Rogers went 2 for 4 and scored a run. Brandon Moss went 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBI.

Akron edged Portland 2-1 in 10 innings. Tommy Hottovy went 7 innings allowing 1 run on 7 hits and 2 BB. He had 1 K. Chris Smith (2-3) went 2 1/3 innings. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits and a BB. Jeff Corsaletti went 1 for 3 with a RBI. Bryan Pritz went 1 for 3.

Lancaster defeated Rancho Cucamonga 4-3. Matt Goodson (1-3) went 5 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 BB. He had 8 Ks. Hunter Jones went 2 2/3 scoreless innings. He allowed 1 hit and did not walk a hitter. He had 2 Ks. TJ Large pitched the final inning giving up 1 run on 1 hit. He had 3 Ks. Zach Daeges went 2 for 5 and scored a run. Mark Wagner went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. He is now hitting .303.

Greenville blasted Rome 15-3. Chris Jones (4-4) started and went 7 innings. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit and 3 BB. He had 4 Ks. Jorge Rodriquez threw the final 2 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits. Argenis Diaz went 2 for 4 with a run scored and a RBI. Lars Anderson went 2 for 5 and scored 2 times. Jon Still went 3 for 6 with a home run, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Manny Arambarris went 4 for 5 with 3 runs scored. Jason Place went 3 for 6 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI. Matt Sheely went 3 for 4 with a run scored and 2 RBI.
