Pitcher of the Week, April 22-28: Charlie Zink
Tossing 12 IP, allowing only one run, while yielding four hits, and striking out 10 was enough for Portland knuckleballer Charlie Zink to be named the inaugural SoxProspects.com Pitcher of the Week. In two starts against New Hampshire Zink got a win (April 28; 6 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 5 K) and a no-decision (April 22; 6 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 5 BB, 5 K). The 27-year-old righty has split time between Portland and Pawtucket for the last three seasons. Lancaster's Michael Bowden, who is making a name for himself in the hitting friendly California League, finished a close second.
