Buchholz outduels Clemens but Sea Dogs blow lead in 9th.

Portland blew a 3-2 lead in the ninth, let Roger Clemens off the hook and ended up losing 4-3 in 10 innings. Clay Buchholz started and outpitched the future hall of famer. He went 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 7 hits. He did not walk a batter and had 8 Ks. Barry Hertzler went 2 innings and did not give up a run on 1 hit. He had 1 K. Mike James pitched the ninth and blew the save giving up a 2 out home run. He had 1 K. Chris Smith did not retire a batter in the 10th. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits. Jed Lowrie went 2 for 4 with a run scored. Andrew Pinckney went 1 for 4 with a run scored. Iggy Suarez went 1 for 3 with a RBI. John Otness went 1 for 3.

Lancaster doubled Inland Empire 16-8. Kevin Guyette went 3 2/3 innings. He gave up 7 runs on 9 hits and 2 BB. He had 1 K. Jose Vaquedano went 2 1/3 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits and a BB.
