Steinocher hurls solid six innings for Drive

4/14 Cup of Coffee: Don is on vacation and Jonathan got last minute Red Sox tickets, so I'll have a go at putting together a late Cup of Coffee for last night's games. The PawSox fell to Scranton 6-2 at McCoy. Runelvys Hernandez went 5.2 innings, allowing 5 runs, all unearned. Luis Jimenez and George Kottaras each collected two hits. Portland's game in Binghamton was rained out - the teams will play a doubleheader today beginning at 1:05 p.m. – both games are set to be seven inning contests. In California League action, Lancaster defeated Inland Empire 7-5, after a mediocre start from top prospect Justin Masterson (4 IP, 5 runs, 3 ER, 2 Ks, 3 BBs). Bubba Bell continued on his tear, going 3-for-6 at the plate, Aaron Bates hit his 4th dinger of the season, and Jay Johnson, Scott White, and Sal Paniagua each had multiple hit games. The Greenville Drive also took a win, defeating Rome 3-2. Brian Steinocher went six innings, allowing no earned runs, striking out 5, and walking none. Josh Papelbon took home his second save, and Lars Anderson hit his first home run in the process of going 3-for-4 and raising his average to .375.
Player of The Night: Brian Steinocher, who took home the win after pitching six solid innings for Greenville.
