Bell homers twice for second consecutive game


Happy Easter! With over a foot of snow falling overnight here in Nova Scotia an extra large cup of coffee will go down well this morning.Pawtucket edged Charlotte 4-3. Mike Timlin pitched 1 inning giving up 1 hit and 1 run. David Pauley went 6 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits and a BB. He had 5 Ks. Edgar Martinez went 2 innings. He blew the save but got credit for the win. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit and a BB. He had 3 Ks. Travis Hughes picked up the save pitching 1 scoreless inning. He allowed 1 hit. Chad Spann went 1 for 3 with a BB. Luis Jimenez went 1 for 3 with 2 BB and 2 RBI. Due to the bad weather here in the northeast, Portland's game with Connecticut was postponed for the third consecutive day. In California, Lancaster bombed Bakersfield 19-5. Kris Johnson went 2 2/3 innings giving up 4 runs on 4 hits and 4 BB. He had 2 Ks. Kevin Guyette picked up the win going 4 1/3 innings. He did not allow a run while giving up just 1 hit and a BB. He had 3 Ks. Jason Blackey finished the last 2 innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits. Bubba Bell went 3 for 5 with 2 homers, 3 runs scored and 4 RBI. Iggy Suarez went 4 for 6 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. Luis Soto went 2 for 3 and scored a run. Zach Daeges went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and a RBI. Salvador Paniagua went 3 for 5 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI. Ryan Khoury went 2 for 4 scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 others. Finally, Charleston edged Greenville 2-1. Dustin Richardson took the loss going 4 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 4 hits and 4 BB. He had 5 Ks. Adam Blackley went 3 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits and a BB. He struck out 3. Josh Papelbon pitched the final inning. He did not allow a run on 1 hit and a BB. Reid Engel went 1 for 3 and scored a run. Lars Anderson went 1 for 3 with a RBI.
Player of The Night: Bubba Bell who for the second consecutive night hit 2 homers. He went 3 for 5 with 3 runs scored and 4 RBI.
