Akron edged Portland 1-0 in 10 innings. The loss wasted an excellent performance by Frank Brooks who went 7 scoreless innings allowing just 1 hit and a BB. He had 9 Ks. Mike Bumatay took the loss when a runner who he had walked scored the lone run of the game. He went 2/3 of an inning.Edgar Martinez gave up the hit that allowed the winning run to score.Jacoby Ellsbury went 1 for 4. Mike Leonard went 1 for 3. Wilmington defeated Potomac 6-4. John Barnes went 5 1/3 innings. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits and 3 BB. He had 3 Ks. Justin Sturge blew the save and then was credited with the win. He went 1 inning and gave up 1 run on 2 hits and a BB. He had 1 K. Jay Johnson went 2 for 5 with a home run and 2 runs scored. Jed Lowrie went 3 for 5 with a run scored and 2 RBI.
