On Friday, Charlotte defeated Pawtucket 10-6. Lenny DiNardo started but did not record an out. He gave up 4 runs on 3 hits and a BB. Charlie Zink took over and went 6 1/3 innings. He allowed 1 run on 8 hits and a BB. Barry Hertzler still managed to blow the save and take the loss. He went 2 2/3 innings giving up 5 runs on 5 hits and 3 BB. Dustin Pedroia went 2 for 4 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Trent Durrington went 2 for 2 and scored 2 runs. Portland lost both games of a doubleheader to Connecticut by scores of 10-4 and 1-0.
