6/10 Cup of Coffee


Cold and wet in the Northeast again, boy a cup of hot coffee would be great right about now. Last night Pawtucket edged Richmond 2-1 in 10 innings. Jimmy Serrano started and went 7 innings. He did not allow a run on 4 hits. He walked 1 and struck out 7. Jermaine Van Buren threw the final 2 innings. He blew the save but recorded the win. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits and 2 BB.Dustin Pedroia went 2 for 4. David Murphy went 1 for 3 with a run scored and 2 BB. Jeff Bailey went 2 for 3 and scored a run. Portland was rained out yet again. Winston-Salem edged Wilmington 2-1. Luis Mendoza started and went 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out 3. Jeff Corsaletti went 1 for 3. John Otness went 1 for 3 with 2 BB and a run scored. Ashville got by Greenville 5-4. Clay Buchholz started and went 5 innings allowing 1 run on just 1 hit. He wallked 2 and struck out 8. Blake Maxwell blew the save and took the loss giving up 4 runs on 5 hits in 2 2/3 innings of work. Jay Johnson went 2 for 4. Dominic Ramos went 2 for 5 with 2 RBI. Yahmed Yema went 3 for 6. Tony Granadillo and Mike Leonard were both 2 for 5 and each scored a run.
