Last night's action saw Pawtucket edge Ottawa 5-4. Jon Lester got the start and went 5 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits. He walked 2 and struck out 4. Craig Breslow got the win in relief going 2 innings giving up 2 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks. Dustin Pedroia went 2 for 5 with a RBI. Jeff Bailey went 1 for 3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI. Portland blanked Connecticut 5-0 behind the strong start of Kason Gabbard who went 6 innings allowing just 2 hits, 0 BBs while striking out 10. David Murphy went 2 for 4 scoring a run while Dave Bacani went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Wilmington lost a 13 inning game 6-5 to Potomac. Andrew Dobies went 6 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits. He gave up 1 BB and struck out 3. Adam Blackley went 4 innings allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. He had 3 BB and 3 Ks. J.T. Sturge took the loss allowing 1 run on 2 hits in an inning of work. Claudio Arias went 3 for 6 scoring a run and driving in another. His hits were all doubles. Greenville defeated Savannah 7-1 behind a strong start by Michael Bowden who went 5 innings allowing 0 runs on 3 hits. He gave up 1 BB and struck out 10. Blake Maxwell blew the save but picket up the win allowing 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings of work. Jeff Natale went 2 for 3 with a homer and 2 runs scored. Bubba Bell went 2 for 5 scoring a run and driving in another. Chris Turner went 1 for 5 but had a grand slam home run in the tenth inning to ensure the victory.
