In a 16 inning marathon, Rochester edged Pawtucket by a score of 4-3. Rodney Nye was 3 for 6 to lead the hitting attack. Marc Deschenes went 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 3 hits. Infielder Trent Durrington pitched the final three innings giving up 2 runs on 1 hit with 3 walks. Portland was edged 2-1 by New Britain. David Murphy went 3 for 5 while Jeremy West went 2 for 4. David Pauley took the loss giving up 1 run on 4 hits over 6 innings of work. Kinston got by Wilmington 3-1. Jacoby Ellsbury was 2 for 3 to lead the offense. Tommy Hottovy took the loss giving up 2 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings of work. Finally, Augusta completed the negative sweep by shutting out Greenville 2-0.
