In action on Monday, Pawtucket was held to just 2 hits in a 5-0 loss to Rochester. Ken Huckaby and Ron Calloway had the lone hits. Jon Lester started and lasted just 2 1/3 innings giving up 3 hits and 1 run with 3 Ks. He took the loss. Portland scored a decisive 12-4 win over New Britain. David Murphy and Jeremy West were each 2 for 4. They each scored 2 runs. Keoni DeRenne went 2 for 5 and scored 3 runs. Jose Vaquedano started and pitched 2 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. Charlie Zink took over in relief and went 3 1/3 innings to notch the victory. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. In the final action of the night, Kinston defeated Wilmington 4-1. Adam Blackley took the loss allowing 3 runs on 6 hits in 4 innings of work. He struck out 4. Iggy Suarez went 3 for 3 with a run scored.
