SoxProspects.com has confirmed from three separate sources that LHP Nick Hagadone will leave Greenville on Sunday to have Tommy John Surgery on Tuesday, April 29 by Dr. James Andrews. Hagadone last pitched on Aprl 16 against Greensboro, but he left that game after just 2.1 innings complaining of forearm tightness. Apparently the UCL injury occurred while Hagadone was working on his change-up. He heard a pop, and was able to go about ten more pitches before leaving the game. The injury was initially thought to be minor, but it was decided in recent days that Hagodone will undergo surgery next week so he can begin his rehab stint as soon as possible. He'll reportedly be out of game action until at least June 2009. Hagadone, 22, was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA, 12 strikeouts, and 6 walks in 3 starts for the Drive. He is currently ranked the #6 prospect in the system by SoxProspects.com.
