Cup of Coffee: Jhostynxon Garcia rips clutch hit in DSL Sox loss

8/10 Cup of Coffee: It was a quiet Monday down on the farm. Four Rookie-level games were on the docket, but half were postponed by lightning in Florida. The Red Sox Red team in the DSL saw their contest suspended in the third inning. The Blue team managed to get its full contest in, dropping to 12-8 despite the efforts of Jhostynxon Garcia.

FCL Red Sox @ FCL Rays (postponed)
Neither game of the scheduled doubleheader was able to happen as lightning came through, resulting in the ninth and tenth suspension or postponement of the FCL Sox season. They'll make up one game this afternoon as part a doubleheader, and the other is schedule as part of a twinbill on September 6.

The only completed game of the day ended in a loss of Team Blue, doomed by a 1-for-10 effort with runners in scoring position. Jhostynxon Garcia had that one hit, a fifth-inning RBI double. Garcia was also the only member of the lineup with a multi-hit day, going 2 for 4. Lyonell James reached base three times with a double and pair of walks. Jean Carlos Reyes drew the start, giving up one hit and walking a pair in two scoreless frames.

The Red squad's contest was suspended in the third inning with the contest knotted at one apiece. Ahbram Liendo reached base twice out of the leadoff spot with a single and a walk. The teams will finish this game on September 2, followed by a seven-inning contest.
