Minor Notes: Trade talks heating up
Here are Monday's minor league notes:
- We would like to thank all of our readers that contributed to this year's Donation Drive, as we have reached our goal. We will still be taking donations, but things are looking good now that we have raised over $7,000. It is greatly appreciated!
- Trade talks are starting to ramp up, as the trade deadline is Wednesday at 4:00 pm. ESPN's Buster Olney is reporting that the Red Sox feel like they can make an impact move in the bullpen. Olney mentions Bobby Dalbec and Triston Casas as names to watch. Chris Hatfield and Ian Cundall offer their thoughts on Olney's report.
- Dalbec has played first base in two of his last three games after not appearing at the position since June 2.
- Baseball America's 2019 Prospect Handbook lists Darwinzon Hernandez as Boston's projected closer for the 2022 season. Christopher Smith of MassLive.com spoke to Hernandez about the projection.
- Smith also spoke to Alex Cora about Hernandez, who mentioned that his stuff is good enough to work at the big league level to get away with a few mistakes.
